Walter Iezzi

October was a significant month for the Walter Iezzi Property Group.  We saw our Tapas and Wine Bar, Backlane officially open to rave reviews. I believe we have created a unique space with a great offering in terms of wine, spirits and cocktails and you can graze to your hearts content on the wide selection of tapas we have available. More information on Backlane can be found below including links to the menu and website.

Elysee was also completed and signed off by council with individual titles now issued.  We will be handing over to our very excited new owners this week who are all keen to move into this beautiful new residence.  Elysee is beautiful by day but is truly magical at night with the lighting enhancing the design to perfection. If you missed out on Elysee, we have other developments we are bringing to market over the next few months, so register your interest on anything that appeals so we can keep you updated on each specific project.

Pinnacle is progressing out of the ground, although we have experienced a few delays which has been compounded by the recent 350mm of rain we recently received. We will keep you abreast of how things are progressing over the coming months.

October was also the month in which the annual Mayoral Ball was held. Leisa and I attended this sold out event in support of SunnyKids who provide assistance to local children and families in need. It’s one of the many events we sponsor and are delighted to be part of a great cause.

And finally, I have found time to write some blogs which are essentially my thoughts on a lot of things from development, what constitutes good design as well as the impact on design on our economy. My first one can be found on our website here. Please feel free to share.

Although Pinnacle is progressing out of the ground we are a little behind schedule. This delay is due to the extremely complicated construction techniques we have had to use in getting the footings right. This coupled with the large amount of rain we experienced in recent weeks has meant that, at this stage, we are approximately six weeks behind schedule but will endeavour to make up some time over the coming months.

The team at Caloundra Concrete Pumping, who have been pouring our footings, have provided us with some amazing images and footage taken at the Pinnacle site. These images/footage were of the concrete pour that happened earlier this month and you can watch the footage via Youtube here.

There are only four units remaining at Pinnacle and further information can be found on our website.

Prime Minister Visits Sunshine Coast

During October Andrew Wallace MP, brought the Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull to the Sunshine Coast to speak with business and community leaders. Referred to as “Politics in the Pub”, the event was held at the Caloundra RSL. It was an informal session and gave the attendees an opportunity to raise questions, concerns or issues.  Walter raised his concerns about the NBN rollout and how the delays were impacting businesses.  Mr Turnbull promised to have an answer to this question which we will share with you once we receive a formal response.

Backlane has officially opened

Backlane’s official opening was held on Friday 27 October and was attended by over 100 special guests including the Mayor Mark Jamieson. This exciting new venue is located on First Avenue, Mooloolaba, and is a unique and inviting offering in Mooloolaba. It is a place where people can graze on bite sized culinary delights from early afternoon to late into the evening.  In addition to a broad range of wines, the bar is bringing back the cocktail in a big way, offering a wide choice of old and new favourites. And the spirit lover has not been forgotten either as the bar is stocked with specialty whiskeys and bourbons.

Finished to perfection don't be fooled into thinking this is bar is uber expensive - it's not and is definitely worth a visit. More details are on their website
